The Direct Aid Program (DAP)

The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a small grants program funded by the Australian Government and managed by the Australian High Commission in Funafuti. DAP aims to support small-scale projects with a strong development focus that complement Australia’s broader aid program.

DAP is available to individuals, community groups and NGOs engaged in development activities, in designated countries, on a not-for-profit basis. The program is aimed primarily at supporting small-scale development projects/activities that involve beneficiaries in the identification, design and management of the projects. Attention is given to projects providing direct benefits to those most in need in the local community, including vulnerable or disadvantaged groups, children and youth.

Eligible activities may include:

  • Community health
  • Conferences and training activities
  • Cultural and Sporting activities
  • Education
  • Environmental development
  • Gender equality
  • Rural development
  • Sanitation
  • Small Scale infrastructure

Important note: DAP program and application requirements can change from year-to-year. Please do not rely on information that does not appear on this website or that you did not receive directly from the High Commission.
